Nov 20/23

Today we started our new unit on Immigration! I am excited for this unit and to compare immigration with the past, present, and future :)

In Class: Today you made your new packet, and we filled out section 1 of your notes and started watching "Story of Us: Cities"

Project:I also passed out your project for this unit---- we made a deal that if everyone in your class works on the project, this will be the last project until February!!!! Do it, I promise you will enjoy doing it :)

Homework: Fill out backside of project sheet (background info)

We turned packets in and took the Quiz+Essay..... unless you are 6th period. Your class brought 308 cans for the food drive, so we took a class quiz and watched Newsies

Nov 16/17

Journal: How did you feel about the assembly line activity? Could you do this for 10+ hours every day? 

In Class: Today we finished your packets :) We also did the Men Who Build America activity (last page in packet).  If you were absent, you will need to get a computer to finish filling this out.  Your homework is the back side of the gold sheet in your packets--- this is your review for the test! Use them like flash cards :) 

Homework: Make sure your packets are 100% filled out! they are due next class period.... along with the test--- OR if your class decides to bring cans then we will have a short quiz and watch Newsies

Nov 12/13

Journal: Which group (from the posters) had the greatest impact on settling the American West?

In Class: Today we finished up your people of the west page in your packet--- if you were absent, they will be up in the hall until Wednesday of next week!

We also worked on your guided notes (finished chapter 5, and Chapter 6 section 1.

We also learned about strikes and labor unions--- we will finish this up next class period!

Homework: LT guide, if you didn't turn in your Unit 4 packet..... get on it! It is worth a lot of points, so make sure that you do it all the way :)

Journal: What would have happened if the South had won the Civil War--- politically, socially, economically?

In Class: Today we finished up your packets :) We also did the green sheet in your packet 'North v. South: Civil War" if you were absent, you will place the terms in the correct boxes!

The last pages of your pink guided notes 7&8 will serve as your review for the test; you will pick 3 terms/events/people from each section of your notes.  You will write the term/event/person you picked, and draw a visual representation.

Homework: Make sure your packet is all the way filled out! Journals, LT's, notes, assignments, and INSTAGRAM!

Nov 2/3

Journal: What items do you have in your pocket/bag? What do these items say about you?

In Class: Today we finished up section 3 of your guided notes :) We also learned about Lincoln's Assassination and those involved (pink worksheet in packet 'Lincoln CSI')  If you were absent, you will need to come in during intervention to to do the assassination activity.

Homework: Make sure your LT guide is caught up through day 6- get going on the Instagram project!!! It will be due this Fri/Mon along with your packet & the test.


CLASS COMPETITION! This week is the food drive week---- we will have a competition between the history classes! Winner does not have to take the DBQ test for our next unit, and instead will take a short quiz :)
