Journal: What is one tradition you would want to pass on to your posterity?

In Class: Today in class we finished page 4-5 of your note packet (using PowerPoint) For the rest of class we answered the question, "Did Pocahontas really save John Smith's life?" If you were absent come see me during intervention to get these documents :)

Journal: What would motivate you to move away from home?

In Class: Today in class we finished up the POV charts.... if you were absent you will need to come in during intervention to finish this activity.  We also started learning about colonies (filled out pages 3-4 in note guide)
***I introduced your project for this unit! You will be making a colony brochure inviting others to come and visit one of the 13 original colonies.  Instructions can be found on the last page of your packet.  I also have some examples that you may look at to help you :)

Journal: Why do people come to America today?

In class: 
Today I collected all the disclosure documents! If you were absent make sure that you bring that to me ASAP.

In class we made our new note packets, if you were absent either print one off here on the blog (under unit 1 tab) or come see me so I can get that for you.  We finished pages 1-2 in class- if you were absent you can find that PowerPoint under the unit 1 tab; We also broke into groups to get started on the POV character! If you were absent I will assign you a group :)

Homework: answer questions 1-2 at the bottom of page 2 in your note packet

Journal: None

In Class: Today in class we learned about why having different perspectives is important; as we learn about US History this year we will be looking at different perspectives and artifacts trying to discover what truly happened.  We also set up a class government and made some amendments to the class disclosure document.  I will let you know next week what these changes are :)

Homework: Turn in your disclosure document to me next Mon/Tue!!!!!
